A dental clinic that doesn't feel like one
Bright Smile Dental opened in 2015 when Dr. Aroha Ngata returned from Melbourne determined to build a practice that didn't feel like a dental clinic. She found a sunlit corner unit on Devonport Road with harbour views and stripped it back to the bones — no fluorescent lights, no sterile white walls. The result is a space that feels more like a wellness studio. Her team of four dentists and three hygienists see everyone from nervous toddlers to retirees, and they've built a reputation for making the anxious ones feel okay.
