The Man Behind the Counter
Wax & Groove opened in 2015 when Hemi Te Rangi quit his radio job to build the record shop Dunedin deserved. The store on George Street has been a music hub ever since — racks of vinyl sorted by genre, a wall of local NZ pressings, a turntable corner where you can test-drive anything, and in-store gigs on Friday nights. If Hemi doesn't have it, he'll find it.

The Listening Station
Not sure about an album? Take it for a spin. Our listening station has a quality turntable and headphones set up so you can hear before you buy. Hemi reckons you'll discover something you didn't know you needed at least once every visit.
We also stock turntables, cartridges, and accessories — everything you need to build a setup that does the music justice.
